Jesus Freak

Jesus Freak: Feeding Healing Raising the Dead. Jossey-Bass 2010. 192 pages.

Here at Two Friars and a Fool we are committed to elevating the level of our theological discourse. That is why you will only find us reviewing books by people with letters in front of their names, and when we do so you should expect to find us in our smoking jackets and holding our pipes. Just holding them because smoking is gross.

If you are an author or a publisher and you would like your book to be reviewed with the utter seriousness and piercing insight that we display here, you may send us three free copies. We do advise, however, that any book worth reading will have an enormous bibliography, frequent footnotes (not those impostor endnotes you find in works of lesser erudition), and at least two words per paragraph that require the use of an etymology dictionary. It is also helpful if the author has a truly tremendous ego.

Sadly, our present offering is deficient on all of these points. Jesus Freak by Sara Miles is positively comprehensible, witty, and emotionally involving whether you are the proud possessor of an advanced degree or not.
